Former Ports O’Call Site Transforming

Plans are underway to turn San Pedro’s longtime waterfront village into the 42-acre West Harbor, with 35,000 square feet of oceanside dining space, a 6,200-seat amphitheater, and a dockside area for incoming cruises. Some tenants have already been announced.

Expanded Huntington Chinese Garden open at last

It was over two decades in the making. Now the outdoor spaces of the Huntington’s 11.5-acre expansion are unveiled. Highlights include a Stargazing Tower, an area for the age-old art of miniature landscapes, and a performance courtyard paved in pebble mosaics.

Nights of the Jack

Thousands of hand-carved and illuminated jack o’lanterns turn a mile of King Gillette Ranch trail into a Halloween wonderland you can cruise by car. At five mph, it’s an out-the-window Instagrammer’s dream. (Even the location, Calabasas, means pumpkin.)
